Oyster mushrooms are a versatile ingredient for a number of sauces, and their specific oyster flavor can enhance even the simplest of dishes. In the video recipe, we prepared them with steak. This festive main dish can be the star of the carnival season, but you can prepare it for any other occasion and have a great success with it.
Ingredients:
- 300 g oyster mushrooms
- 2 onions
- 200 ml cream
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 tbsp butter
- 100 ml dry white wine
- 1 tbsp mustard
- salt and pepper to taste
- steak (slices of beef on the bone, specially cut, one for each person)
- slices of toast (equal to the number of steaks)
Preparation:
Wash the oyster mushrooms and cut them into strips. Chop the onion finely. Melt the butter in a frying pan, sauté the onion and garlic with a bit of salt, then add the mushrooms and fry for a few minutes. Add the mustard, white wine, and spices, cover the pan and simmer until all ingredients are soft.
While the mushrooms are simmering, we can prepare the steak: season the meat, quickly fry on both sides in a pan, then leave it under foil for a few minutes to become tender.
Finally, add the cream to the mushroom sauce and bring it to a boil.
You can serve the steak sliced with toast and sprinkle the mushroom sauce with greens.
