The English breakfast is a traditional dish going back a long time, which, though might seem complex at first, can be prepared in just a few minutes. Even if you don’t make it on weekdays, when everyone is in a rush, it’s a perfect choice for a weekend breakfast, when the entire family sits at the table.
Ingredients
- 1-2 slices of bread
- 3-4 champignon mushrooms
- canned beans (with tomato or just cooked)
- 1-2 eggs
- 1 large tomato
- 2 English sausages (or any other kind)
- 2 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- salt, pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 220°C.
In a pan, fry the sausages on each side, for approximately 5 minutes, then transfer to an oven dish. Make a cut on the lower part of the tomato and put it in the dish next to the sausages. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn off the oven, but leave the dish inside to keep the sausages and the tomato warm.
Clean and slice the mushrooms, or leave them whole if they are small. Put half of the butter in the pan to melt, then fry the mushrooms and the bacon. When the mushrooms are soft and the bacon is crunchy, transfer to the oven dish to keep warm until serving.
Heat up the canned beans in a pot, stirring continuously.
In the end, make the fried eggs, toast the bread, and spread the remaining butter on top.
Serve the food nicely arranged on a plate and season to taste.
