Replace your traditional meatball recipe with these special and savoury meatless mushroom balls with dried fruit.
Ingredients
- 500 g brown champignon mushrooms
- 1 small cup dried fruit to taste
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon oil
- 1 egg
- 1 cup maize flour
- 1 onion
- green onion
- 1-2 cloves garlic
Instructions
Cut the fruit into small pieces and grate the onion, garlic and mushrooms.
Fry the onion with the mushrooms in a spoonful of butter for a few minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste, then scoop into a bowl and when it has cooled a little, add the egg, chopped green onion and at least 3 tablespoons of maize flour to make the composition easy to form.
Taste the composition and season if necessary, then add the dried fruit (peaches, plums, blueberries to your preference). Shape into balls and fry them in a hot pan in the remaining butter mixed with oil. Fry for a few minutes until golden brown and serve with your favourite side dish.
